A rapidly growing space technology company in San Jose is seeking an Sr. Environmental Test Technician to join its Assembly, Integration, and Test team. This is a hands-on role supporting the testing and validation of spacecraft hardware through environmental qualification activities that help ensure mission success before launch.
In this position, you'll work with thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, thermal cycling, and other environmental test systems while helping maintain and troubleshoot the critical equipment used throughout the testing process. You'll partner closely with engineering and integration teams to prepare, execute, and support spacecraft test campaigns in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain environmental test equipment.
- Support thermal vacuum, vibration, thermal cycling, and qualification testing.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and vacuum system issues.
- Install and maintain sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment.
- Read engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
- Assist with test setup, equipment commissioning, and laboratory improvements.
- Support spacecraft hardware through development, production, and testing activities.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience with environmental testing or aerospace test operations.
- Experience with TVAC, vibration, thermal, or qualification testing environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with vacuum systems, pumps, chillers, instrumentation, and DAQ equipment.
- Ability to work in cleanroom and laboratory environments.
- Aerospace, spacecraft, satellite, or launch vehicle experience is highly preferred.
This position can pay between $48-58/hr based on years of experience.
