Overview / Job Description:
A large pharmaceutical organization is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead U.S. accounting operations and support accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close, and strong internal controls. This role will oversee daily accounting activities, manage a team, support external audits, and partner closely with FP&A, Supply Chain, and other business functions to ensure financial data is accurate, compliant, and actionable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close for all U.S. legal entities in accordance with IFRS
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure accurate general ledger activity within SAP
- Perform variance analysis and investigate material account fluctuations
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, IRS, and internal controls
- Support annual external audits
- Partner cross-functionally to improve reporting and financial visibility
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff while driving process improvements
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- 7–10 years of accounting experience; public accounting and/or pharmaceutical experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, IRS compliance, and internal controls
- Prior people management experience
- ERP experience required; SAP preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management

Salary : $160,000 - $175,000
