What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Insight Global?
Day to Day:
An employer is seeking a Safety Manager/Construction Manager candidate for a client located in Petersburg, Indiana. This is slated for 6 months, with the possibility to extend beyond. The Construction Managers oversee and coordinate the various aspects of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules, budgets, customer and internal requirements are followed. This person would also act as the Safety Manager and must be able and willing to get safety licenses related to mining/quarry operations (this will be paid for by the company).
Responsibilities and Other Duties:
Safety Compliance & Hazard Control: Monitor and remove biological, physical, or chemical hazards; ensure compliance with safety regulations for electrical, construction, and outdoor work
Training & Awareness: Provide safety training for all personnel, including subcontractors, on site-specific safety protocols, equipment use, and emergency procedures
Incident Management: Document accidents, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of work sites, equipment, and procedures
Regulatory Adherence: Maintain accurate safety records and ensure all projects meet local, state, and federal safety codes, especially for electrical installations
Collaboration: Work with project managers, construction managers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into project planning and execution
Emergency Preparedness: Oversee emergency response plans and ensure all team members know evacuation routes, first aid procedures, and hazard mitigation steps.
Must Haves:
- 3 Years Experience as a safety professional with experience on utility scale solar projects
- Current OHSA 30 Certification
- Current OHSA 510 Certification
- Current First Aid / CPR / AED Qualification
Compensation:
$40/hr to $48/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
