Desired Skills and Experience
- 10 years of experience in IT Architecture, Solution Architecture, or serving as a Lead Technical Subject Matter Expert.
- 3 years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing architects and highly technical teams.
- Strong experience developing technology roadmaps, architectural strategies, and enterprise solution designs.
- Deep understanding of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Experience supporting or architecting SCADA and other real-time operational systems
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, infrastructure strategy, and architecture governance.
- Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps delivery frameworks.
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and translate business objectives into technology solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Day to Day
We are seeking a Portfolio Architect to lead technology strategy, architecture planning, and roadmap development for a portfolio of critical operational and security systems. This individual will partner with business and IT leadership to define architectural direction, establish technology standards, and deliver scalable, secure solutions that support key business objectives. Responsibilities include leading architecture initiatives, developing portfolio roadmaps, guiding solution design, evaluating current-state environments for performance and resiliency improvements, establishing architecture standards and governance, supporting complex troubleshooting efforts, and mentoring a team of architects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise and solution architecture, leadership of highly technical teams, Agile/SAFe methodologies, CI/CD delivery practices, vendor management, and cloud technologies such as Azure. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments, with experience supporting real-time systems, SCADA platforms, and security-focused initiatives. Experience within utility, energy, gas distribution, or gas storage environments, along with knowledge of AVEVA products and operational control systems, is highly preferred. A bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of architecture or senior technical leadership experience, including 3 years leading architects or technical teams, are required.
