Overview / Job Description

A large, HVAC‑intensive hospitality and mixed‑use facility is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to support daily operations under a Chief Engineer. This role is heavily focused on HVAC preventative maintenance across hotel rooms, conference spaces, and shared public areas. The ideal candidate is a self‑directed engineer who is comfortable working independently within a CMMS and executing maintenance to documented safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on HVAC systems across a large facility
• Maintain and service cooling towers, AHUs, RTUs, and related mechanical equipment
• Execute lockout/tagout (LOTO) and follow documented safety procedures
• Develop and follow standardized PM procedures within a CMMS
• Ensure all maintenance activities meet compliance and documentation requirements
• Support facility needs that may require overtime or schedule flexibility

Required Skills

• 5 years of HVAC‑focused engineering experience (10 years ideal) in an industrial or commercial environment
• Hands‑on experience performing HVAC preventative maintenance on cooling towers, AHUs, and RTUs
• Strong ability to work independently within a CMMS
• Solid understanding of safety, compliance, and documented maintenance procedures
• EPA certification (preferred; flexible for highly qualified candidates without certification)

• Experience supporting hotel, conference center, or mixed‑use facilities
• Advanced experience maintaining ATS or UPS systems
