Required Skills & Experience
-High School Diploma 1 year general work experience
-Valid driver’s license with ability to travel daily to field sites
-Comfortable working outdoors in hot/cold weather and uneven terrain
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (intermittent)
-Basic mechanical/electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
-Ability to learn environmental sampling techniques and safety regulations
-Pass physical and drug screening
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-A.S./B.S. in Environmental Science or related field -Experience with landfill gas or landfill fluids systems
-Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment (FID, PID, gas detectors, pH/conductivity meters, LFG analyzers)
-HDPE pipe fusion or light equipment operation experience -OSHA HAZWOPER (or willingness to obtain)
-Strong documentation, communication, and reporting skills
-Military/veteran background a plus
Job Description
Insight Global’s client is an environmental consulting organization supporting solid waste and landfill operations. This is a hands-on field role for technicians seeking practical experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, and system maintenance. The position involves working outdoors at active project sites and supporting both operational and regulatory initiatives. Daily travel to regional field sites is required.
Responsibilities:
-Operate, inspect, and maintain Gas Collection & Control Systems (GCCS)
-Monitor landfill gas (LFG) and liquids systems
-Perform routine and corrective maintenance on GCCS components
-Collect, document, and manage environmental compliance data
-Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems (pumps, blowers, instrumentation)
-Follow safety protocols including PPE, hazard communication, and confined space procedures
-Work outdoors on active landfill sites; walk long distances on uneven terrain
- -Travel daily to project sites within 100 miles of the Davis region
