Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in mortgage lending operations, specifically supporting final documents, post-closing, funding, or loan servicing functions
- Experience obtaining and recording mortgage-related documents through title companies, county recording offices, and third-party vendors
- Knowledge of notarized loan documents and recording requirements, including how notarization impacts the recording process
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Summary
Cornerstone Mortgage Group is seeking a Final Docs Specialist to support the post-funding documentation process for residential mortgage loans. This individual will be responsible for tracking recorded loan documents, coordinating with external partners, and ensuring all final documentation is delivered accurately and timely to investors and custodians. The ideal candidate has experience in mortgage operations, post-closing, funding, or loan servicing and is comfortable handling document follow-up through phone and email communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and obtain recorded mortgage documents following loan funding
- Follow up with title companies, county recording offices, and third-party vendors regarding recording status
- Coordinate the delivery of final recorded documents to investors and document custodians
- Manage email communications containing loan documentation and supporting attachments
- Maintain accurate documentation tracking logs and loan records
- Perform file maintenance, document retention, and purging activities as needed
- Ensure all final documents are submitted to the appropriate parties within required timelines
- Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies to maintain compliance and accuracy
Preferred Background
- Experience working in a mortgage lending, post-closing, funding, or servicing environment
- Familiarity with investor and custodial document requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with mortgage documentation systems and Microsoft Office applications
