JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Lead Specialist, Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS) to support the continued development, implementation, and maturation of our Pipeline Safety Management System program. This individual will serve as a key driver of process improvement efforts by partnering with stakeholders across the organization to develop procedures, document workflows, establish governance processes, and strengthen alignment with API RP 1173 principles.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating sustainable program infrastructure, including process mapping, SOP development, implementation tracking, audit support, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong ability to influence and gain buy-in from stakeholders, communicate the value of PSMS initiatives, and drive adoption of new processes across the business. The long-term focus of this position is to help advance the organization's PSMS maturity by building scalable processes, documenting best practices, identifying gaps, and implementing solutions that improve operational performance, safety culture, and organizational effectiveness. Annual salary ranges from $110,000-$130,000 depending on level of experience, and relocation assistance is offered if necessary.

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience leading process improvement initiatives, including process mapping, workflow development, and SOP creation.

- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to gain buy-in and drive adoption across multiple teams.

- Experience implementing, managing, or improving programs within a regulated, operational, or safety-focused environment.

- Strong project management skills with experience tracking initiatives, identifying gaps, and driving continuous improvement.

- Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable processes.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with API RP 1173, PSMS, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, or similar management system frameworks.

- Background in natural gas, utilities, pipeline operations, energy, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.

- Experience supporting audits, compliance programs, corrective action processes, or organizational change initiatives.

- Knowledge of root cause analysis, risk management, Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

- Relevant certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, quality, safety, or operational excellence credentials.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
