We are hiring a Facilities Technician with a strong HVAC background to support critical building systems in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. This is a hands-on role suited for someone mechanically inclined with a strong sense of ownership.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair chillers, boilers, air handlers, and rooftop units
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
- Maintain plant-based HVAC and closed-loop systems
General Facilities Support
- Perform light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
- Support office/lab needs including furniture installs, moves, and repairs
- Maintain doors, locks, and general building components
Operations
- Conduct daily facility rounds and equipment checks
- Respond to service tickets and maintenance requests
- Document work and maintain accurate records in digital systems
- Track equipment using asset and maintenance tools
Project & Site Support
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
- Assist with small construction and renovation projects
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 3–5 years in facilities or building maintenance
- Strong HVAC experience with chillers, cooling towers, and boilers
Technical Skills
- Plant-based HVAC systems
- Cooling towers and heat exchange processes
- Closed-loop chilled water systems
- UPS systems, CDA compressors
- VAV boxes and lighting systems
General Skills
- Basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Comfortable using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
Soft Skills
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in regulated environments (semiconductor, pharma, labs)
- Fire alarm systems exposure
- OSHA 10, Lockout/Tagout training
- Experience with compressed air systems
Certifications
- HVAC certification or trade schooling preferred
- Chiller-specific training is a plus
