What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environment Health Safety Lead position at Insight Global?
Position Overview:
Lead all safety and environmental health efforts for the mechanical portion of a large-scale construction project. Serve as the sole onsite safety representative for the mechanical subcontractor, coordinating with the general contractor’s safety team and ensuring compliance with all site, client, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks for mechanical construction crews.
- Conduct daily site visits and hazard inspections (HVAC, piping, sheet metal, etc.).
- Complete multiple work area evaluations per day; document findings and corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents and near misses; maintain OSHA documentation.
- Ensure all employees follow site-specific safety protocols and best practices.
- Serve as the point of contact for safety issues between the subcontractor, general contractor, and project owner.
- Submit reports to regional safety leadership and project management.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience (mechanical construction preferred).
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- First Aid & CPR certified.
- Experience on large-scale commercial, data center, hospital, or semiconductor projects is highly preferred.
