Device Test Engineer
Location: Onsite, Overland Park, KS (5 days/week)
Contract Length: 12 months extensions

We’re seeking a Mobile Device Testing Engineer with strong hands-on experience in wireless telecom ecosystems, including LTE and 5G technologies. This is a lab-based role focused on testing mobile devices (Google, iPhone, Samsung), analyzing logs, automating test scenarios, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure device and network performance meets launch and post-launch standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans for VoNR, VoWiFi, mobility, and other wireless features.
- Use tools like QXDM, ELT, adb, ssh, Wireshark, Splunk, Truecall, Axiom, Sable, EPCTool, NSM, nBA to monitor and troubleshoot device/network issues.
- Read and interpret OTA messages and UE logs to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with automation developers to create and run test scripts using Python or AI-assisted tools.
- Monitor KPIs post-launch and recreate field issues in lab environments.
- File/manage tickets in JIRA and LabOps for OEM/network teams.
- Support network teams with troubleshooting and configuration validation.
- Validate OEM test results and perform regression testing on software updates.
- Manage device inventory, software flashing, and activation/deactivation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of 5G SA vs NSA, EPSFB, and LTE technologies.
- Experience connecting devices to Qualcomm QXDM and MediaTek ELT tools.
- Ability to read OTA messages from QXDM & ELT logs.
- Ability to write or generate basic automation scripts and execute them on devices.
- Familiarity with Android and iOS platforms and various OEMs.
- Proficiency with tools like Truecall, Axiom, Sable, EPCTool, adb, ssh, NSM, nBA, Wireshark, and Splunk.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills under pressure.
- 5 years in mobile device testing or wireless telecom roles.
