Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to support a large financial services client. This role is responsible for database migration support including the maintaining of high availability, performance, and reliability across mission-critical systems, with a focus on Sybase ASE and/or DB2 environments. Must-Haves:
- 3–5 years of experience in Database Administration (DBA)
- Hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and/or DB2
- Experience in supporting database/center migrations
- Strong understanding of:
- Database administration tasks
- Troubleshooting and performance analysis
- SQL and database architecture
- Experience with job scheduling tools (Autosys, cron, bash scripting)
- Ability to follow and execute runbooks in a production environment
- Experience working in Linux environments (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice-to-Haves:
- Exposure to additional databases (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB, Hadoop)
- Experience with large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
- Strong learning mindset and adaptability
- High level of ownership and results-driven attitude
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain enterprise database environments (Sybase ASE and/or DB2)
- Ensure high availability, replication integrity, and disaster recovery readiness
- Manage database replication technologies (SQL Replication, Q Replication, Sybase Replication Server)
- Support database design, implementation, upgrades, and migrations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, application, and infrastructure teams
- Lead or contribute to the database migrations and lifecycle upgrades
Salary : $40 - $47
