Position: Account Executive
Location: Lexington, Kentucky 40509 (5 days onsite)
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
Start Date: May 11, May 18, or June 1
Pay Rate: $28.50-$31/hr
Salary upon conversion:
- No experience: $40,400
- 1–2 years experience: ~$45,000
- 3 years experience: ~$50,000
- Higher bases driven by expected overtime
- Commission
- 10% commission for customers you bring in from day one
- Once moved to full commission tier:
- 35% uncapped commission
- Base salary is removed if commissions exceed base
- Earning Potential:
- Average earnings in years 1–2: 6 figures
- Year 2 average: $130K
- Year 3 : $200K
Interview Process
- Initial virtual interview (20–30 minutes) with Talent Acquisition
- Onsite interview: shadow an Account Executive and meet with the Sales Manager

Day to Day:
An employer is seeking an Account Executive in the Lexington, KY area. This is a fast-growing 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) provider specializing in freight brokerage services. They connect customers with reliable drivers and carriers to move freight efficiently across the U.S. This is a high-energy, sales-driven environment with significant earning potential for motivated individuals. This role starts as an Account Executive in Training (AET), where you’ll learn the business by supporting an experienced Account Executive’s book of business. You’ll develop core logistics knowledge including carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and freight execution, while gradually building the skills needed to manage your own customers.
This is an inside sales role that involves high-volume calling, relationship building, and negotiation. Sales professionals in this role are essentially freight brokers, selling transportation services to customers nationwide.
- Source and build relationships with carriers/drivers
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers
