Position Summary:
The primary role of the University Program Associate (UPA) is to independently provide consultation and program administrative and clerical support to the assigned academic programs (traditional BSN, PhD, and VAP). The University Program Associate is the procedural expert and is instrumental in planning, analyzing, organizing, and managing daily activities of the assigned programs and department and engaging with and advising students. The program management, transparency and accuracy of the program is necessary to meet the requirements of accrediting agencies and fulfill the goals and objectives set forth in the contract. The UPA also supports the Program Directors, Department Chair, and faculty to assure overall success of the programs. The UPA must be familiar with all aspects of the programs and be able to work independently without supervision. The UPA has knowledge of program policies, procedures, technology, best practices, and their theoretical bases.
The UPA has the ability to interpret and apply a variety of interrelated policies, procedures, and programs for students and faculty and can address non-routine issues. Duties include student advising, developing and managing correspondence to multiple constituencies internal and external to the university; developing and managing student databases; preparing a variety of reports for funding, accreditation and university entities; coordinating and participating in student recruitment and developing miscellaneous projects for the School of Nursing; and other duties as assigned to support the Dean, Associate Deans, or supervisor in the School of Nursing. This position requires the ability to interact with potential and current students and maintains contact with students through graduation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications:

Essential Tasks:
- Serve as primary contact for traditional BSN, PhD, VAP programs and department.
- Communicate and provide assistance and guidance for traditional BSN, PhD, VAP programs to program directors and department chair.
- Regularly communicate with Department Chair, Program Directors, Director of the Office of Student Success, Senior Associate Dean, Dean and faculty regarding department/program and student issues.
- Develop and maintain consistent, accurate and timely communication with Program Directors, Department Chair, Director of the Office of Student Success, Associate Dean, Dean and faculty regarding program implementation and evaluation.
- Assure compliance with university, state and federal regulations and procedures; problem solve and make decisions to ensure compliance.
- Problem solve and assist Program Directors with decision making regarding program workflow, calendar, and expenditures; student communication; student admission processes and documentation; planning, gathering and submitting evaluation data.
- Maintain departmental budget and those of the associated programs.
- Coordinate with SON budget personnel for department/program-related purchases
- May prepare expense reports and faculty reimbursements for processing.
- Staff advisor/contact for students enrolled in the program(s):
- Guide prospective and enrolled students in managing application, admission, enrollment, payment, resource procurement, graduation requirements, and evaluation data processes
- Provide pre-admission audits, guide application processes, plan of study, course selection, program and academic requirements, tuition payments, and textbook purchases.
- Provide information for implementing and evaluating program activities and outcomes.
- Provide program website updates and track accuracy.
- Participate in student recruitment efforts by giving presentations, attending recruitment fairs and staffing recruitment tables/booths as needed.
- Utilize Banner Student module and/or Slate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Maintain student databases for compliance and outcomes management
