Classification Title:
OPS Laboratory Technician II
Classification Minimum Requirements:
Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Coursework or academic background in immunology or related biomedical sciences is advantageous; training will be provided given the unique assays conducted by the laboratory.
Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by experimental timelines.
Job Description:
The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a highly motivated applicant for an OPS Laboratory Technician II position with duties to include:
Conduct preclinical studies evaluating novel therapeutic interventions for olfactory loss using murine models of chronic sinusitis, in compliance with IACUC protocols.
Perform flow cytometric analysis of murine and human airway tissues, including experimental design, sample preparation, data acquisition, and interpretation.
Execute ELISA and cytometric bead array assays for biomarker quantification in clinical trial specimens.
Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and maintaining supplies and reagents.
Collect and process human tissue samples from operating rooms, including cataloging, establishing primary cell cultures, and preparing specimens for downstream applications.
Expected Salary:
$21.50 per hour
