The Medical College of Georgia Department of Surgery at Augusta University is seeking a full-time a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor who will serve as a Colorectal Surgeon. The faculty member will practice the full range of endoscopic and surgical techniques for treating gastrointestinal tract (GI) tract. The qualified applicant can treat patients non-surgically (by endoscopy), with minimally invasive surgery or with open surgery. This individual will be in a non-tenured position.
Responsibilities
MD/DO degree; candidates should be board eligible in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Colorectal Surgery, with additional fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery; 5 years of general surgery residency and an additional year of colorectal fellowship
Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training
Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Develop clinical practice in the field of Colorectal Surgery.
- Enhance the Colorectal Surgery Program, increase clinic visits and increase surgical volumes related to colorectal cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), benign colorectal and anorectal disease.
- Work with colleagues in medical oncology and radiation oncology, to re-establish the multi-disciplinary Colorectal Oncology Program and enhance the endeavors of the program on a national level.
- Participate in the call schedule with the Divisions of Surgical Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
- Teach and educate general surgery residents about colorectal surgery.
