Duties/Responsibilities
Any, or a combination of, the following: legal research; memo and brief writing; fact investigation; civil discovery including drafting and responding to written requests, preparing for taking and defending depositions, document review, and discovery-related motion practice; communication with clients, witnesses, and co-counsel; presentations on First Amendment issues; and/or policy research and analysis.

Position Summary
The First Amendment Clinic at the University of Georgia School of Law seeks a summer law intern to work 20-30 hrs/week for 10 weeks.
The Clinic defends and advances the rights of free speech, press, assembly, and petition via direct client representation and advocacy on behalf of individuals and organizations who cannot afford or do not otherwise have access to counsel with First Amendment expertise. The Clinic also serves as a resource for journalists, students, government employees, and members of the public on issues of open access and free expression in order to promote a better-informed citizenry.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position
At least one year completed and in good academic standing at an ABA-accredited law school preferred.
