MVCC is seeking to fill a ten-month Instructor position in theSchool of Humanities. Responsibilities include instruction for courses includedin the English for Speakers of Other Languages program including, but notlimited to, Composition, Grammar, Listening & Speaking, and Reading. Teachingfaculty at MVCC have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the Collegemission of providing high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverseneeds of our students. Our employees have an opportunity to make a differencein students' lives every day. Ideal candidate will have the ability to teach coursesat a beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Full-time facultymembers teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies andguidelines. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom settings and online. Please note this is not a fully online position and islikely to be predominantly, if not exclusively, in-person. This position mayinclude both daytime and evening classes on our Utica and/or Rome campuses.Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications and Schoolneeds. In addition to teaching, full-time instructors participate in programassessment, curriculum development, and student advisement, as well asrecruiting for the program. They serve as members of various School and CollegeCommittees. First year faculty also participate in a multi-semester New FacultyExperience program.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master'sdegree in related field and Bachelor's degree in discipline; OR
  • Master'sdegree in discipline and Bachelor's degree in related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching ESOL courses at the college-level
