MVCC is seeking to fill a ten-month Instructor position in theSchool of Humanities. Responsibilities include instruction for English Compositionand Literature courses including, but not limited to, English 1: Composition(with and without Integrated Learning Support), English 2: Ideas & Valuesin Literature, Effective Speech, and genre-specific literature courses. Teachingfaculty at MVCC have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the Collegemission of providing high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverseneeds of our students. Ideal candidate will have the ability to teach coursesat the developmental, entry-level college, and advanced/honors levels.
Full-time faculty membersteach contracted classes in accordance with established policies andguidelines. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom settings and online. Please note this is not a fully online position. Thisposition may include both daytime and evening classes on our Utica and/or Romecampuses. Specific assignments will be made according to the academicqualifications and School needs. In addition to teaching, full-time instructorsparticipate in program assessment, curriculum development, and studentadvisement, as well as recruiting for the program. They serve as members ofvarious School and College Committees. First year faculty also participate in amulti-semester New Faculty Experience program.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in related field AND Bachelor’s degree in English, Rhetoric, Composition; OR
- Master’s degree in related field AND Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least thirty (30) credits in English Composition and Literature
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching at the community college level
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. If you currently need sponsorship or will need it in the future to maintain employment authorization, you do not meet eligibility requirements.
