Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Data Analyst Intern - Institutional Student Worker.

This Position Will

Gain proficiency in Power BI and learn to build reports on top of an integrated data warehouse.

Understand how to work with SQL developers and data engineers to interpret data models.

Strengthen abilities in data storytelling, insight generation, and executive-level communication.

Learn to design from a blank canvas - iterating through mockups, prototypes, and polished visuals.

Develop practical skills in reporting services and exception/audit report development.

Responsibilities

• Build Power BI dashboards and visualizations for institutional priorities (enrollment, academic planning, strategic initiatives).
• Create paginated and audit-style reports using Report Builder.
• Translate data models from the EDW/ODS/data marts into clear, actionable visual insights.
• Partner with the Chief Data Officer and analytics team to refine requirements and iterate on designs.
• Assist with exception reporting and data quality monitoring.
• Document visualization logic, metrics, and design choices.

• Interest in data visualization, analytics, or applied statistics.
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
• Comfort working from undefined or open-ended requirements.
• Strong attention to clarity, design, and narrative.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in the minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
• Experience with Power BI, DAX, or similar visualization tools preferred.
