Position Summary:
This position supports student achievement and implementation of the core curriculum for the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) accredited program at the College. The clinical faculty member has the responsibility and accountability for evaluating the student in the clinical or laboratory setting and monitoring performance goals. Professional communication and accountability in all modalities are cornerstones of this role.

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:

- Apply standardized principles, policies, and concepts consistently.2. Ensure compliance of student participation in the clinical or lab setting with program guidelines.3. Collaborate with others in routine and challenging situations.4. Communicate accurately to meet deadlines.5. Participate in review of the curriculum.6. Engage students in critical thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal workplace skills.7. Infuse diverse, multicultural perspectives into the instructional process.8. Participate in professional development activities annually in surgical technology and education topics.
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program with a minimum of a certificate of accomplishment in surgical technology2. Current credential as a Certified Surgical Technologist, CST3. Two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years4. Ability to push, lift, and pull a minimum of 20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation5. Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time6. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR Certification7. Proof of immunizations and titers for MMR, varicella, TB, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and annual Flu vaccine, or valid documentation of alternatives8. Clear background check, drug screen, and fingerprinting
- Associate degree in surgical technology or higher degree in a technical field2. Teaching experience in surgical technology education3. Excellent oral and written communication skills4. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
