Job Summary
Albany State University (ASU) seeks an innovative, student-centered, and results-driven leader to serve as the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success (AVPEMSS). This senior administrator will provide strategic oversight of the full enrollment lifecycle recruitment, onboarding, retention, progression, and completion ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for all students.
The AVPEMSS will lead ASU's comprehensive enrollment strategy with a goal to exceed 7,000 enrolled students, while strengthening and protecting the University's commitment to retention, progression, and graduation outcomes. The ideal candidate will excel in data-informed decision-making, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership.

Responsibilities
Strategic Enrollment Leadership
- Develop, lead, and refine a comprehensive enrollment management plan designed to increase ASU's enrollment beyond 7,000 students.
- Maintain strong academic and operational integrity while advancing retention, progression, and graduation goals.
- Strengthen pipelines through K-12 partnerships, community colleges, military pathways, adult learner recruitment, and workforce-driven initiatives.
- Lead campus-wide strategies to enhance student persistence, academic success, and degree completion.
- Provide executive oversight to advising, testing, dual enrollment, and adult/military-support programs.
- Promote evidence-based practices and high-impact interventions that remove barriers to student success.
- Provide executive leadership to the Enrollment Service Center (Ram Central), ensuring efficient, professional, and student-friendly one-stop experience.
- Oversee service-level standards, workflow design, operational improvements, and customer service expectations across all units.
- Use predictive analytics, early alert tools, and student engagement data to drive targeted retention strategies.
- Partner with academic deans, faculty, and support units to enhance academic momentum and remove institutional barriers.
- Monitor and act on key performance indicators tied to retention, completion, and equity outcomes.
- Use dashboards, enrollment models, CRM and SIS data, and institutional research to drive operational and strategic decisions.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with state, federal, and accrediting requirements related to enrollment and financial aid.
- Identify emerging trends and create proactive responses to enrollment challenges and opportunities.
- Build strong working relationships with academic departments, athletics, registrar, IT, finance, housing, and other key stakeholders.
- Represent Enrollment Management & Student Success on institutional committees and strategic planning initiatives.
- Engage external partners including K-12 districts, workforce organizations, military installations, and community partners to advance recruitment and career pathways.
- Supervise directors and professional staff, promoting a high-performance, service-oriented culture.
- Drive continuous improvement and professional development across all reporting units.
- Foster an atmosphere that prioritizes student service, accountability, and innovation.
- Oversee budgets across all units with a commitment to responsible stewardship.
- Make strategic decisions regarding staffing, technology, and resource allocation.
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enrollment management, student success, academic support, or related areas.
- Demonstrated success leading complex operations and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of improving enrollment and student success outcomes.
- Doctorate degree (Ed.D., Ph.D., or related discipline).
- Demonstrated success with onestop service models, CRM systems, SIS platforms, and predictive analytics solutions.
- Experience supporting first-generation college students, adult learners, military affiliated students, and/or students at minority-serving institutions.
