Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with experience in sales tax compliance to join our finance team. This role includes processing invoices, vendor payments, and ensuring accurate project-related financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain vendor records
- Process invoices and check requests
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions
- Ensure timely payments while adhering to company policies
- Maintain financial records related to project budgets and expenditures
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure cost allocations align with budgets
- Ensure proper tax treatment of vendor invoices and project expenses
- Assist with month-end closing and requested reconciliations
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies
- Assist with 1099 reporting
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in accounts payable and project accounting
- Experience working with SAGE 300
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial principles
- Knowledge of Sales Tax compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and people skills to collaborate with project teams
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred or equivalent in experience
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
