Job Description:
Our client sources approximately $1 billion annually in power generation auxiliary equipment from a global network of third-party suppliers. These components (large fluid skids, heavy electrical systems, ductwork, exhaust stacks, piping assemblies, and mechanical structures, etc.) are critical to the performance and reliability of their energy projects around the world. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every piece of equipment delivered from their suppliers meets their exact standards for safety, quality, and reliability. You will be on the front lines of supplier performance, helping to identify, prevent, and resolve issues that impact delivery and product integrity. With their customers depending on aggressive delivery schedules, this role is essential to maintaining a zero-defect culture and supporting on-time fulfillment across their global supply chain.
- 5 years as a Quality Inspector working in a manufacturing and assembly factory setting
- Experience inspecting the following equipment: Piping, Mechanical and Fluid Scopes, Water Wash Skids, Electrical Enclosures, Haz Gas Panels, and Kits for compliance with safety, quality, and reliability standards
- Special process experience qualifying, monitoring, and auditing processes for Welding knowledge, NDT Level II (VT/PT/RT/MT), painting (Frosio level II), mechanical and electrical assembly and testing.
- Experience conducting and verifying MPP’s (Manufacturing Process Plan) and ITP’s (Inspection Test Plan)
- Strong ability to interpret and work with technical documentation such as engineering drawings, technical specifications, NDT’s, and bills of material (BOM).
- Quality assurance processes and methodologies: Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Experience working in power plant sourcing or project teams
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Business discipline
- Oversee supplier adherence to engineering specifications and quality standards, spending the majority of time on-site at supplier facilities.
- Verify completion of supplier quality tasks against applicable inspection and test plans (ITPs) for critical parts and manufacturing processes
- Conduct in-process, intermediate, final, and packaging inspections, ensuring all findings are documented and punch-list items are properly closed.
- Collaborate with supplier quality engineers to investigate and resolve quality issues, identify process deviations, and recommend corrective actions to restore compliance.
- Provide clear, timely written reports on inspection activities, issue resolution progress, and supplier performance observations.
- Ensure suppliers follow approved manufacturing and inspection process plans, monitoring for any risks related to quality, delivery, safety, or environmental compliance.
- Escalate critical risks and recommend stop-work actions when necessary to prevent non-conforming deliveries.
