What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hardware Test Engineer (Job ID 002970) position at Innovien Solutions?
Our client, an established Aerospace & Defense organization is seeking a hands-on Hardware Test Engineer to support a critical precision-guided systems program. This role sits directly in a lab environment and focuses on early-stage hardware development as systems move from prototype through environmental and integration testing.
This is a highly hands-on position centered on execution. You will work closely with test architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams to validate system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure successful test outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute integration and environmental testing on hardware systems within a lab environment (DVT & HALT).
- Run Design Verification Testing (DVT) and other hardware validation testing to confirm systems meet functional, performance, and engineering requirements.
- Execute Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) or other environmental / stress testing such as thermal, vibration, or reliability testing on hardware.
- Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions in real time.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to validate system performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and test architects to support test planning and execution strategies.
- Support build, integration, and test processes across the system lifecycle.
- Document test results, findings, and technical insights for engineering teams.
- Conduct thorough debugging and root cause analysis to identify hardware failures or performance issues.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience executing integration and test activities on hardware or embedded systems, including setting up test environments, running test procedures, and validating system performance.
- Experience running Design Verification Testing (DVT) or similar hardware validation efforts to ensure systems meet functional and performance requirements.
- Experience executing Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) or other environmental and stress testing such as thermal, vibration, or reliability testing.
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems to capture and monitor system behavior.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting test data to identify performance issues, anomalies, and root causes of failures.
- Background supporting prototype bring-up, subsystem integration, and system-level test execution during hardware development.
