Sheet Metal Foreman

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Floor Manager to oversee the daily workflow of our manufacturing facility. This role is the "command center" of our production floor, responsible for bridging the gap between raw material receipt, team supervision, and final shipping. The ideal candidate will balance these tasks though hands-on leadership to ensure our production deadlines and quality standards are consistently exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight & Leadership

• Workflow Management: Assign all manufacturing tasks to specific departments and personnel to maximize efficiency.
• Team Supervision: Directly supervise front-line manufacturing employees, providing guidance and accountability to ensure all production deadlines are met.
• Hands-on Support: Assist with physical production tasks as needed during peak volumes to maintain the production schedule.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor the floor to ensure all outputs meet the company’s stringent quality standards.

Logistics & Shipping Coordination

• Order Fulfillment: Confirm final product counts and prepare all necessary shipping documentation.
• Customer Liaison: Notify customers of order completion.
• Contract Shipping: Collaborate with the shipping department to coordinate shipping or delivery of contract orders.

Inventory & Procurement

• Receiving: Oversee the intake of all steel orders and powder coating materials for contract manufacturing.
• Inventory Control: Perform regular audits of raw materials and maintain 100% accuracy within the company ERP system.
• Purchasing: Prepare and manage POs for all non-steel vendors and shop supplies.

Facilities & Internal Communication

• Workspace Maintenance: Oversee the general upkeep of the shop and manage the requisition of necessary supplies to keep operations running smoothly.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act as a central point of contact for internal departments to ensure company-wide objectives and resource needs are aligned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a lead or supervisory role.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with ERP systems and emailing software.
• Logistics Knowledge: Familiarity with shipping documentation and carrier requirements (UPS/Freight).
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage a diverse team and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for vendor and customer interaction.

Work Environment

• This position requires a presence on the manufacturing floor and may involve lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating in a shop environment.
• Must be comfortable transitioning between office-based administrative tasks and hands-on production assistance.
