Role Description The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) will support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in delivering high-quality pediatric speech and language services. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, conducting therapy activities under supervision, collecting and documenting data on child progress, and preparing materials for sessions. The SLPA will assist with initial screenings, support parent consultations, and participate in communication with schools and other professionals as directed by the supervising SLP. This is a contract, on-site role based in Miami, FL, requiring consistent in-person interaction with children, families, and the clinical team. The SLPA is expected to uphold IPLC’s standards of compassionate care, maintain professional documentation, and contribute to a collaborative, child-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational skills in Speech and Speech Therapy, with the ability to implement treatment activities under supervision.
- Knowledge of Communication and Communication Disorders, including basic understanding of language development in children.
- Skills related to Articulation, including supporting therapy for sound production and speech clarity.
- Approved training or associate degree as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (or equivalent), and eligibility to work under a licensed SLP in Florida.
- Experience working with children in clinical, educational, or related settings; pediatric experience strongly preferred.
- Clear, professional communication skills with children, caregivers, and colleagues; ability to provide culturally sensitive and bilingual support is a plus.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, including accurate data collection and adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Ability to follow treatment plans, accept supervision, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
