PLC Miami is a boutique, private-pay pediatric intervention practice committed to providing individualized, evidence-based, and collaborative care. We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our growing team as a 1099 independent contractor.
The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys working with children and values high-quality, personalized intervention that supports meaningful participation at home, at school, and in the community.
Position Structure
The position will begin with an onboarding and training period under the guidance of an experienced clinician. Following training, the COTA will transition into a part-time role as their caseload is gradually established, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time caseload.
Because IPLC Miami is a private-pay practice committed to maintaining strong clinical standards and thoughtful clinician-family matching, we cannot guarantee a specific timeline for caseload growth. The pace will depend on factors such as clinician availability, performance, reliability, family satisfaction, scheduling flexibility, and the ability to build strong therapeutic relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide pediatric occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized treatment plans addressing fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-care, regulation, attention, and functional participation
- Plan engaging and developmentally appropriate treatment sessions
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Communicate professionally with families, teachers, supervisors, and other members of the IPLC team
- Collaborate with speech-language, reading, and educational intervention providers
- Participate in team meetings, clinical learning, and case discussions
- Maintain organized treatment spaces and responsibly care for therapy materials
- Provide services in the IPLC Miami office and at partner schools, as assigned
Qualifications
- Current Florida Occupational Therapy Assistant license
- Current certification
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Warm, patient, creative, and comfortable working with children
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Dependable and receptive to feedback and ongoing professional growth
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with the clinical team
- Commitment to individualized, functional, and family-centered intervention
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Initial Schedule: Training followed by part-time hours as the caseload develops
