Role Description The Occupational Therapist will provide pediatric occupational therapy services on-site at IPLC in Miami, FL under a contract arrangement. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering one-on-one therapy sessions that support children’s functional skills in daily activities, play, and school routines. The role involves collaborating with parents, caregivers, schools, physicians, and other therapists to ensure coordinated care and clear communication of goals and progress. The Occupational Therapist will document assessments and treatment sessions, maintain accurate records, and adjust interventions based on ongoing observation and evidence-based practice. The position also includes educating families on home programs and strategies that promote skill carryover in natural environments.
Qualifications
- Strong pediatric Occupational Therapy skills, with experience in evaluation, treatment planning, and intervention for children.
- Knowledge of Rehabilitation principles and Medicine as they relate to pediatric developmental, sensory, and functional needs.
- Excellent Communication skills for working with children, families, schools, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience or interest in Pediatrics, including familiarity with developmental milestones and school-based functioning.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist in Florida.
- Certification or membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., AOTA) preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively, maintain detailed clinical documentation, and apply evidence-based, family-centered care.
