Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precision TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for producing high-quality welded assemblies using TIG welding on stainless steel and other metal components. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, accurate welds and can consistently meet quality and production standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform precision TIG welding on components to engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Set up and prepare components for welding, ensuring proper fit-up and alignment.
- Select appropriate welding equipment, filler materials, and techniques based on job requirements.
- Prepare parts using grinders, deburring tools, and other fabrication equipment.
- Produce welds capable of meeting applicable quality requirements, including liquid penetrant (PT) and X-ray (radiographic) inspection.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Perform basic finishing operations when required.
- Maintain welding equipment and work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Work with production and quality teams to resolve welding-related issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a TIG welder in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience welding stainless steel.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
- Ability to consistently produce welds that can successfully pass non-destructive testing (NDT), including radiographic (X-ray) and liquid penetrant (PT) inspection.
- Familiarity with measuring and inspection tools such as calipers, scales, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with orbital TIG welding is a plus.
- Experience welding thin-wall stainless steel tubing or precision components.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 or other quality-driven manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of welding inspection standards and quality documentation.
