Position Summary
Innovative Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Agent to join our team. This position is responsible for procuring raw materials, tooling, supplies, and other production-related items to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create and manage purchase orders using the company's ERP system.
- Purchase raw materials, tooling, maintenance supplies, and other items required for production.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Analyze purchasing reports and inventory data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Obtain pricing and negotiate with vendors to ensure the best value while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
- Track purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Resolve discrepancies related to pricing, shipments, and invoices.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Collaborate with production, accounting, and warehouse teams to support operational needs.
- Perform other purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with an ERP/MRP system.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
