Seeking a Cost Accountant to support accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost analysis in a vertically integrated environment. This role ensures BOM accuracy, analyzes production variances, supports new product costing, and provides visibility into margins and cost drivers to strengthen profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain standard costs for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; ensure BOM and routing accuracy in Sage X3.
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and explain key drivers to Operations and Finance.
- Reconcile inventory and WIP at month-end, support counts and audit activities, and monitor reserves for obsolete stock.
- Model cost impacts for new products, formulation or packaging changes, and vendor updates.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve cost visibility, support margin analysis, and maintain strong inventory controls.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2–5 years of cost/manufacturing accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOMs, WIP, and ERP systems (Sage X3 preferred).
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills; collaborative approach with Operations and Supply Chain.
Preferred:
- Experience in CPG, cosmetics, or chemical manufacturing.
- Background in variance analysis and cost modeling.
- Desire to grow into a Senior Cost Accountant role
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
