Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) has the primary responsibility to evaluate resident care and direct the nursing operations of Inglis House. He/she plans and develops processes, and procedures to improve nursing operations for quality and efficiency. The ADON maintains an ongoing quality assurance program for the Nursing Department and implements all quality measure and quality improvement programs initiated through quality evaluation processes at Inglis House. The ADON accomplishes this by creating a culture of learning, integrity, service and teamwork and supports nursing managers by building positive employee relations. The ADON also ensures that Inglis House is constantly in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Accredited school of Nursing; Master’s Preferred
Current CPR/Basic Life Support
Certified Infusion Therapy preferred
Certified Wound Care a plus
2 years Assistant Director of Nursing experience preferred or 5 years Management Experience
Working knowledge of long-term care
Pay Rate for this Role: $115k-$125k/ Annually

What You'll Do
Overview:
- Manage and maintain effective and efficient nursing operations as needed throughout assigned neighborhoods
- Provide all staff with clear direction and decision making when process or function is uncertain
- Ensure processes for maintaining compliance and quality service are utilized, addressed, and completed timely and correctly
- Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for all assigned neighborhoods (including being On-Call and available for in-person attendance during any shift as needed)
- Ensure open and comprehensive communication standards are maintained between staff and administration
- Develop, review and revise clinical Policies & Procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and evidence-based best practices
- Ensuring daily practice is reflective of documentation
Incident and Accident Management
- Ensure all incidents and accidents are followed by complete and comprehensive documentation of the following:
- Reported instance
- Notification
- Investigation – Including but not limited to thorough interviewing of all residents and staff as appropriate.
- Required reporting
- Corrective action required
- Conclusion of incident
- Closing of incident
- Ensure all staff involved are present and cooperate with investigation requirements, re-training, and, if removed from duty, are prepared to return to work timely.
- Establish expectations of interdepartmental cooperation during all incident and accident investigations
- Notifies the Director of Nursing and Clinical Risk Manager immediately of all events required to be reported to the regulatory agencies
- Meet with direct reports on a regular scheduled basis
- Document of employee performance
- Schedule and lead staff meetings on a regular basis
- Ensure all staff are meeting their training requirements
- Complete annual evaluations including annual goals that address each employee’s professional development opportunities
- Facilitate and mediate processes regarding conflict resolution
- Ensure smooth onboarding of new team members
- Model HR best practices to establish a culture that encourages staff retention
- Manage staffing costs within budgetary guidelines by reviewing and adjusting as needed.
- Review reports and respond to trends regarding any of the following examples (list not inclusive)
- PTO Management
- Overtime Usage
- Staff Attendance and Punctuality
- Manage and monitor supply usage and ordering in relation to document budgetary expectations
- QAPI
- Implement and sustain QAPI initiatives (including reporting and outcomes data)
- Ensure daily adherence to infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and practices
- Oversee assigned care area and clinical service
- Best clinical practices in a skilled nursing facility environment (i.e. Infection Prevention and Control, Pressure Injury Prevention, Management and Treatment, Falls Prevention and Management, Quality Measures, etc.)
- Federal, state and local skilled nursing facility and nursing regulations including OSHA
