About The Role
Under the supervision of the administrator and in accordance with the established practices and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Early Childhood Specialist shall provide coaching support services to Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) staff in local school districts, public school academies and community programs utilizing a continuous quality improvement model and collaborative consultation with staff, agency personnel, and administrators.

About The Role
Under the supervision of the administrator and in accordance with the established practices and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Early Childhood Specialist shall provide coaching support services to Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) staff in local school districts, public school academies and community programs utilizing a continuous quality improvement model and collaborative consultation with staff, agency personnel, and administrators.
- Serve as a resource to constituents as prescribed by the GSRP Implementation Manual with all assigned programs who participate in in the Great Start Readiness Program.
- Provide data driven instructional coaching to GSRP teachers following the elements of a researched based coaching model and meeting the timelines and required documentation established by MiLEAP (Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential) and Ingham Intermediate School District. Coaching includes, but is not limited to:
- Observing teachers and collecting data to understand teacher instructional practices
- Using observational data to customize coaching to the needs of the individual
- Modeling evidence-based instructional practices in classrooms
- Lesson planning with teachers to implement evidence-based instructional practices in classrooms
About You
- A master's degree in early childhood education or child development (or related field) with five or more years of relevant experience in early childhood education (such as working with young children in a group setting/teaching, program instructional coaching, staff supervision/development, and program management) or a bachelor's degree with ten or more years of relevant experience in early childhood education is required. A Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate with a ZA/ZS, B-K, or PreK-3 endorsement is preferred.
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Pre-K (ECSQ-PK), Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Rules for Childcare Centers, GSRP Requirements as outlined in the GSRP Implementation Manual.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice research and application.
