Job Description:
The NC DMV is seeking an experienced, tech-savvy Vendor Manager to oversee complex IT vendor relationships supporting DMV modernization and operational technology initiatives. This hands-on role ensures contract compliance, vendor accountability, performance management, risk mitigation, and alignment with DMV business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage multiple technology vendors, contracts, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, SOWs, SLAs, milestones, and performance metrics.
• Monitor vendor deliverables, invoices, budgets, and contract lifecycle activities.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Legal, IT, Operations, Product, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Identify risks, resolve escalations, and drive vendor accountability.
• Review deliverables and ensure adherence to security, compliance, and technical standards.
• Support contract renewals, amendments, RFPs, and vendor evaluations.
• Communicate technical and contractual issues clearly to leadership.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of vendor management for complex technology contracts.
• 5 years managing state government procurement and contracts.
• 5 years managing multiple IT vendors across modernization or operations.
• 5 years interpreting contracts, SOWs, and ensuring compliance.
• 5 years coordinating cross-functional IT and business teams.
• 3 years of vendor performance management and escalation handling.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with systems integration, testing, data, and technical environments.
• Financial management, invoice validation, and contract lifecycle experience.
• Experience in government, regulated industries, or digital modernization programs.
• Certifications in Contract Management, Procurement, Vendor Management, or Project Management are a plus.
