Job Title: Electrical Lab Technician
Pay Rate: $29.15/Hr.
Duration: 5 months
Location: Johnson City, TN(Onsite)
Shift: 8 AM - 5 PM
This position is for the Building Automation division.
We are looking for an Electrical Lab Technician. This is a hands-on engineering laboratory position focused on product testing, calibration, equipment maintenance, and quality compliance within an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in laboratory testing environments, supporting electrical product development, and maintaining testing equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support quality and accreditation initiatives.
- Conduct and support laboratory testing activities for electrical/building automation products
- Perform calibration, inspection, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Analyze, document, and report testing results accurately
- Support testing schedules and resolve issues during project execution
- Participate in internal and external quality audits
- Assist with corrective actions, procedure updates, and process improvements
- Communicate effectively with engineering teams, customers, and external personnel
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a laboratory environment
- Minimum 1 year of experience in electrical product development
- Experience with laboratory testing and documentation
- Knowledge of IEC standards related to EMC, safety, climatic, and mechanical testing
- Experience with equipment calibration and maintenance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license with limited violations
- Willingness to travel as required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Associate’s Degree or technical training in electronics, automation, engineering, or related field
- PLC product experience
- SAP system experience
- Experience supporting quality management systems and accreditation audits
- Experience working in ISO/IEC 17025 or A2LA accredited laboratories
