Payroll Assistant
Hours: 35 hours/week
Shift: 7 hours/day
Location: New York , NY
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Enter and process wage garnishments
- Process payroll transfer reports
- Ensure accuracy of benefit deductions
- Perform payroll audits to maintain data integrity
- Assist leadership with payroll and accounting-related projects
- Support year-end payroll activities, taxes, and retro calculations
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Minimum 1 year payroll experience
- Experience with:
- Timekeeping and payroll processing
- Garnishments and payroll taxes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of payroll and timekeeping experience
- Experience with QuickBooks, PayChoice, or Payroll Associates
- Strong analytical skills, especially with retro pay calculations
- Ability to work across multiple systems simultaneously
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Salary : $29 - $30
