Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and attentive overnight caregiver to assist an elderly female client in a private home.
This is a low-activity overnight shift with sleep time permitted, but the caregiver must remain responsive and available throughout the night to ensure the client’s safety, comfort, and dignity.
This role is ideal for someone who is a light sleeper, dependable, and experienced with hands-on care when needed.
Schedule
- Overnight shift: 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM
- Rotating schedule (approximately 12–15 nights per month)
- Schedule provided in advance
Responsibilities
- Remain on-site overnight at all times
- Sleep is permitted, but caregiver must remain responsive if needed
- Perform 1–2 scheduled check-ins during the night
- Assist with:
- Repositioning
- Changing if needed
- Monitoring comfort and safety
- Ensure PureWick system is functioning properly
- Respond to any signs of confusion, discomfort, or distress
- Maintain a calm and safe environment throughout the night
Requirements (PLEASE READ)
- MUST be dependable and show up for scheduled shifts
- MUST be a light sleeper and able to wake/respond if needed
- MUST be comfortable with hands-on care (changing, repositioning, hygiene if needed)
- Experience with elderly, bedbound, or limited mobility clients required
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistency in care
Preferred
- CNA or HHA certification
- Experience with dementia or cognitive changes
- Prior overnight caregiving experience
Important
This is not a passive overnight role.
Caregiver must:
✔ remain on-site
✔ respond if the client needs assistance
✔ perform check-ins
✔ ensure the client remains clean, dry, and comfortable
