What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Assistant position at Infinia Search Inc?
Contract (with potential for extension)
Role: Teaching Assistant/Educational Counselor
Location: On-Site in Arlington, MA
Schedule: M-F, ~7:30AM-3PM
Pay: $23-25/hour
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students inside and outside of the classroom
- Support teachers, clinicians, and administration in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
- Provide academic support, accommodations, and modifications as needed
- Engage and facilitate students’ transitions between classes and throughout the building
- Supervise students in all school locations as needed, including during arrival and dismissal
- Supervise and implement coverage activities during staff absences
- Work collaboratively with teams to prepare/maintain classrooms to support child development
- Proctor testing sessions, providing IEP-mandated accommodations as required
- Provide ongoing social-emotional support to students
- Complete student-related documentation as necessary
- Model appropriate social cues and body language and provide social pragmatic support
- Design and implement educational activities, with supervision, if needed
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children/adolescents
- Flexible and responsive with a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
- Maintain a commitment to professional growth and competency
- Exhibit positive behavior towards students, parents, and staff
- Bachelor's Degree in Education highly preferred
- Ability to pass a background check and medical compliance requirements
