Insurance Adjuster - Service Claims

Direct Hire 

Location: Hybrid in Worcester, MA (2 days on site)

Schedule: M-F, Standard Shift (1st shift, with potential mid-day shift option)

Salary: $55-62K (experience based)

Responsibilities:

• Manage an active pending inventory of 80-120 moderately complex service claims from intake through resolution, receiving an average of 5 new claims daily 
• Conduct thorough investigations, access liability, handle loop calls, and evaluate damages using established guidelines 
• Engage underwriting, legal, and other stakeholders for investigations/evaluations 
• Identify and assign subrogation appropriately; Set up files to support recovery efforts 
• Identify possibly suspicious claims and refer them to the Investigations Unit 
• Transfer risk to appropriate parties and implement techniques to mitigate loss 
• Set reserves and authorize payments within specific limits, using judgement 
• Use technology and data tools to enhance claims processing efficiency/accuracy 
• Resolve claims with empathy and customer-centricity 
• Maintain detailed, compliant, and clear documentation of claims activities 
• Maintain appropriate adjuster licenses and CE credits 
• Mentor entry-level adjusters and share best practices 
• May represent the company in mediations, arbitrations, and trials 

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 2 years of relevant experience in front-line Auto claims handling, call handling, and investigations
• Proficient with navigating multiple screens/windows and using Microsoft Suite; Guidewire a plus
• Clear communicator with the ability to learn and handle negotiation conversations independently
• Critical thinker, with strong organizational, time management, and collaboration skills
• Have and sustain a sufficient home-based internet connection to ensure productivity
