We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. This is a hands-on accounting role focused on month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, cash accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate enjoys working with large volumes of financial data, performing detailed reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy across recurring accounting processes.
This position is less focused on process improvement and special projects and more focused on executing core accounting responsibilities, producing accurate financial information, and supporting a high-volume accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables
- Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, payroll, cash activity, and intercompany transactions
- Perform high-volume account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support all cash accounting activities, including daily cash reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and cash-related reporting
- Review and analyze large volumes of accounting data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare recurring reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for month-end close
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules
- Work closely with internal teams to obtain information needed for accurate financial reporting
- Assist with audit requests and ad hoc reporting needs
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4-7 years of accounting experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments
- Strong understanding of month-end close processes
- Experience with journal entries, accruals, prepaids, payroll accounting, cash accounting, and account reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and consistently meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with repetitive accounting tasks, large data sets, and high transaction volumes
Preferred Experience
- Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), retail, distribution, or other high-volume accounting environments
- Cash accounting experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight month-end close deadlines
Salary : $40 - $50
