Job Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator / Database Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in database architecture, design, development, administration, and performance optimization across both relational and NoSQL technologies at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise database solutions using Oracle, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Cassandra
- Perform database architecture and data modeling for relational and NoSQL databases
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects
- Monitor and tune database performance including query optimization, indexing, execution plans, and resource utilization
- Design and implement high availability, replication (GoldenGate), backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
- Support large-scale database migrations, platform upgrades, and modernization initiatives
- Implement database security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance best practices
- Troubleshoot complex database issues, production incidents, and performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with development teams on database design standards and efficient data access patterns
- Automate routine database administration, monitoring, deployment, and maintenance activities
- Support database solutions in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures
Required Skills
- Oracle and PostgreSQL — architecture, SQL development, performance tuning, administration
- Couchbase and Cassandra — NoSQL data modeling, cluster management, replication, performance optimization
- SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database scripting
- GoldenGate replication and high availability strategies
- Database security, access management, and data protection
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills
