Job Title: Public Accountant
Duration: Fulltime permanent
Location: Waldwick, NJ 07463 (Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a candidate actively pursuing CPA licensure to join a growing public accounting firm in Waldwick, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of recent public accounting experience with expertise in financial reporting, auditing, tax preparation, and client relationship management. .
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, compilations, reviews, and audits in accordance with GAAP and GAAS.
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
- Perform tax planning, tax research, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Manage engagement workflows using CCH Engagement, including trial balances, workpapers, and financial statement preparation.
- Utilize CCH Knowledge Coach for audit planning, risk assessments, and workpaper documentation.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and provide accounting guidance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification.
- Minimum 3 years of recent public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and federal/state tax regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
- Candidates who have passed one or more sections of the CPA exam.
- Hands-on experience with CCH Engagement, CCH Axcess and CCH Knowledge Coach.
- Experience mentoring or supervising accounting staff.
