Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial health and growth. This role requires a hands-on executive who can build financial infrastructure, guide long-term strategy, manage capital, and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and ownership team.
You will lead the finance and accounting organization with an “owner’s mentality,” balancing operational discipline with strategic insight to ensure financial stability, transparency, and sustainable expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with company goals, ensuring profitable, sustainable growth. Provide financial insight to guide decision-making across all business units.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and variance analysis. Deliver clear insights into performance drivers and opportunities.
- Accounting Operations:
Oversee general ledger, month-end close, internal controls, and compliance with US GAAP. Manage audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
- Tax & Estate Oversight:
Understand and manage personal, partnership, and corporate tax structures; support ownership in estate planning strategies and financial management.
- Cash, Capital & Treasury Management:
Optimize cash flow, debt management, and capital structure. Oversee investments, banking relationships, and funding initiatives.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
Establish robust systems for risk identification, mitigation, and financial control. Ensure adherence to all regulatory and statutory obligations.
- Team Leadership:
Build and mentor a high-performing finance team that values accuracy, accountability, and collaboration. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
- Owner Partnership:
Act as a trusted advisor to ownership — providing insight, transparency, and actionable recommendations.
Qualifications
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including CFO or VP-level responsibility.
- Extensive experience with accounting operations, tax strategy, and partnership structures.
- Proven ability to master complex subject matter and communicate it clearly.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and a deep sense of personal accountability.
- Demonstrated success in building scalable systems and leading finance transformation.
- Technology-savvy; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) and analytics tools.
