We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to support office operations at our laboratory in Hammond, IN. This IIA lab is a trusted provider of oil analysis services with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant role involves handling day-to-day administrative tasks, maintaining records, and assisting with communication to contribute to a smooth workflow for the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general office duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, and managing front desk activities.
- Assist with order processing, shipping, and receiving (light packages under 10 lbs.).
- Maintain accurate records and perform data entry for oil and fuel sample processing.
- Assist in communication with customers, vendors, and contractors via phone and email.
- Support inventory management.
- Help with filing, organizing documents, and maintaining office supplies.
- Assist the laboratory with basic tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required (associate degree preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of administrative or clerical experience and customer service experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, email, and basic data entry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
- Ability to reliably commute to Hammond, IN.
- Commitment to a safe, drug-free, and family-oriented workplace.
Work Environment
- Full-time position: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts).
