Position Summary
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse, production, and light assembly operations. This role focuses on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while leading and developing high-performing teams. The position requires strong leadership, hands-on floor presence, and close collaboration with cross-functional partners to support operational and business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Maintain a consistent presence on the production floor to observe processes and engage directly with employees
- Foster a professional, collaborative, and accountable work environment
- Communicate goals, expectations, and operational updates through regular team meetings
- Train, coach, and develop team leads and associates
Operations & Coordination
- Oversee warehouse, production, and light assembly activities to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure departments meet shipment goals, production schedules, quality standards, and inventory requirements
- Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Identify operational gaps and lead process improvement initiatives
- Reduce waste and operating costs while improving throughput and productivity
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Enforce PPE usage and safe operating procedures
- Train employees on safety standards and emergency response procedures
Quality Assurance & Inventory Management
- Ensure all products meet established quality control standards
- Address quality issues in coordination with department leadership
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and effective resource utilization
Facility & Maintenance Oversight
- Oversee routine maintenance of warehouse and production areas
- Ensure assigned teams or contractors complete facility-related tasks in a timely manner
Employee Relations & HR Partnership
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
- Partner with Human Resources on hiring, coaching, discipline, and termination decisions as needed
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment
- Experience directly managing teams of 20–30 or more employees
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and business improvement drivers
- Experience developing, documenting, and enforcing SOPs
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflows in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Associate’s Degree acceptable with additional demonstrated warehouse leadership experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the production floor for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 30 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as required
- Visual and auditory ability to observe operations and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
