Works under the direct supervision of the Parks Foreman and under the general supervision of the Parks Superintendent. Performs a variety of working-level, semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance, upkeep, construction, installation, and repair of County parks, grounds, trails, recreation facilities, buildings, and other County-owned landscaped areas. May provide close general supervision to Parks Maintenance Workers, temporary, seasonal, and/or part-time laborers; does not conduct performance reviews and does not have authority to discipline.
High school diploma / GED supplemented by (3) three years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of formal education and related work experience.
Experience In Sports Turf/ball Field Management Preferred.

- Maintain grounds and turf in county parks, athletic fields, and conservation lands by mowing, trimming, weeding, and grooming.
- Under the direction of a Parks Foreman, provide direct supervision of work being performed by Parks Maintenance Workers.
- Maintain county-owned landscaped areas by pruning, weeding, and clearing debris.
- Operate small and light equipment, including but not limited to various types of mowers, sod cutters, chain saws, pruning equipment, and various hand tools.
- Operate dump trucks, trucks and trailers, loaders, wood chippers, tractors, and other parks maintenance equipment.
- Perform general landscape duties such as planting trees, shrubs, grass, flowers, and other plants in new and/or existing landscaped areas.
- Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders; maintain records of spraying activities; and assure chemicals are properly stored and used in conformity with county, state, and federal regulations.
- Install, repair, test, and operate irrigation/sprinkler systems.
- Maintain and repair as needed, county playground equipment and play areas.
- Maintain and remove debris from county trails, sidewalks, parking lots, planters, and other grounds features.
- Maintain and clean park restrooms, pavilions, and other facilities.
- Assist in the preparations and clean-up of special events and natural disasters.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment; transport equipment to be serviced; assist with repairs as needed.
- Provide customer service in a friendly manner and provide the public with information related to various city services.

Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Florida Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (required to obtain within 6 months)
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance of parks and the maintenance and repair of related facilities and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures for tree trimming, and those to be followed in generating power-driven tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, County officials, and the public.
