- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and personal data, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring compliance with health regulation policies and maintaining strict confidentiality standards
- Assist with billing processes by verifying insurance coverage and explaining payment options to patients
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and correspondence to streamline office operations
Skills
- Proven experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication tasks
- Familiarity with health regulation policies and maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines
- Experience using patient management software, Electronic Health Records (EHR), or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for accurate data entry and retrieval
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and client interactions
- Knowledge of health insurance processes and billing procedures to assist patients accurately
- Strong organizational skills including typing speed and accuracy for efficient record-keeping and data management
