East End Disability Associates Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides services and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). EEDA is hiring a full-time Assistant Director of Residential Services to support several residential homes throughout Suffolk County.
shift: Monday-Friday. Flexibility required based on program needs with on-call responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
1. Maintaining staff ratios to ensure adequate supervision of the people supported and to ensure quality direct services are provided in the program.
2. Evaluate employment applications and resumes, participate in recruitment efforts, conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for Residential Managers, Assistant Residential Managers, Direct Support Professionals (DSP), and other Residential Department positions as assigned.
3. Conduct regular site visits and travel regularly between assigned residential programs, agency locations, community settings, and external meetings to provide leadership, oversight, support, monitoring, and supervision of residential operations.
4. Training of staff regarding specific needs of the people supported, Fire Safety (including scheduled fire drills), and all site-specific needed trainings and certifications. Ensuring staff are up to date with all agency and OPWDD mandated trainings.
5. Maintain a clean and safe environment in the residences and vehicles and to ensure the residences are stocked with adequate supplies for self-care tasks, cleaning and recreational opportunities as well as ensuring there is an ample supply of food and beverages.
6. Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely fashion and maintain Individual Record Files. Documentation includes Input of daily Habilitation Goals into the eVero electronic medical record system for all assigned individuals, Communication Log, DDP 1s, MAR (to ensure all medications were administered), Incident Reports, Seizure and Behavioral Records, necessary consents and all correspondence.
7. Maintain communication with: Family members, OPWDD Staff, Care Managers, Day Program staff, Consultant Staff e.g., Behavior Specialist, Nurse, Nutritionist, etc., to ensure needs are being addressed.
8. Maintain communication with nursing and clinical departments to oversee the medical needs of every person supported living in the residences and to arrange any medical appointments as necessary.
9. Ensure all administrative, billing, and financial responsibilities are completed accurately, including daily, monthly, and quarterly billing requirements; oversight of Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) accounts; review and reconciliation of program financial transactions; maintenance of receipts and support financial documentation; monitoring of program expenditures and budgets; and ensuring compliance with agency fiscal policies and procedures.
10. Take the lead in all OPWDD surveys of all assigned programs.
11. Participate in weekly Admin meetings, Internal Review Committee meetings, Inter-Disciplinary Team meetings and any other assigned meeting or training.
12. Attend and participate in agency-required trainings, seminars, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Such events may require travel beyond the employee’s typical work locations and schedule.
13. Attend individual Lifeplan meetings while maintaining open communication with participant family’s and Care Managers.
14. Other duties may be assigned.
