**Position:** Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk
**Employment Type:** Temporary-to-Hire
**Location:** Providence, RI (On-site)
**Overview:**
A growing manufacturing & distribution company is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily AP operations. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, reliable, and able to quickly learn **Avante**, an older ERP system that is essential to our accounting workflow.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Perform 3‑way match (PO, Receiving, Invoice)
- Maintain AP aging and follow up on discrepancies
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve issues
- Assist month-end close tasks related to AP
- Enter transactions into **Avante ERP** and learn system workflows
- Support the Controller with general accounting tasks as needed
**Requirements:**
- 1–3 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
- Experience with any ERP system (Avante preferred or ability to learn quickly)
- Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP, filtering, pivot tables a plus)
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage deadlines
**Preferred:**
- Manufacturing / distribution experience
- Knowledge of purchase orders and inventory systems
**Compensation:**
- Hourly: $22–$26/hr (depending on experience)
- Temp-to-hire opportunity
